Abstract

We present, based on this reflection, a possible dialogue between an artist, with work aimed mainly at molding sculptures, and a poet, both from Pernambuco. Its about Francisco Brennand (1927 – 2019) and João Cabral de Melo Neto (1920 – 1999), respectively. Based on Brennand’s comments about his creative practice and reading the poem “O ceramista” (In: Agrestes, 1985), by João Cabral, we verified that curiosity and desire to understand what we consider “mysterious” constitute reasons for the creative practices of the artist and the poet. The first, with ceramic sculptures; the second, with linguistic achievements.
