ENGAGEMENTS AND SOCIAL MEDIA: POMERAN DESCENDANTS IN SEARCH OF RECOGNITION

From the 1980s onwards, many Pomeranian descendants started some actions to get to know their language, culture, music, dances and other artistic expressions better, in order to preserve the origins of their ancestors. From the 2000s, the internet and, above all, social networks, would be an instrument not only to unite activists around the defense of Pomeranian culture and language, but also to spread knowledge about Pomeranian immigration (or diaspora) in Brazil. . The city of Santa Maria de Jetibá would practically be an epicenter of these actions, with projects, events, materials and research in general. However, in the city of Domingos Martins, lives one of the main activists, the pedagogue Lilia Janot Stein, who has produced a lot of teaching material inside and outside the school, especially on social networks.
