Focus and Scope
General guidelines for publication in Revista Práxis Educacional
Revista Práxis Educacional is a quarterly electronic journal from the Graduate Program in Education (PPGEd), from the State University of Southwest Bahia (Uesb). Publishes unpublished articles resulting from scientific research, in addition to book reviews. Its main objective is to disseminate research and studies linked to the field of education, developed by researchers from different educational contexts in Brazil and abroad. The magazine does not charge any fee for the publication of the texts.
Evaluation Process (updated 10 July 2020)
The evaluation of the manuscripts will consist of a two-stage process, in accordance with the established in the Guidelines for Authors.
The first stage, preliminary (desk review), involves verifying, by the Editorial Team, if the manuscript meets the editorial requirements, based on quality criteria, such as: authors with attribution of indicators (such as the H-index index *); relevance and bibliographic updating of references (bibliographic review based on the current scenario in which the context of the proposed theme is found); themes already addressed by the Praxis; among others.
In addition, adjustments to the scope of the journal are also checked, regarding its technical criteria, namely:
a) General technical standards of the magazine;
b) Number of authors and their title (at least one author must have a doctorate, with the remaining postgraduate students having a master's or doctorate and / or masters or doctors);
c) Number of pages:
- articles: minimum 15, with the exception of the abstract and references and a maximum of 25 pages, including abstract, references and data from the authors (which corresponds to approximately 10,000 words or 55,000 characters);
- reviews: a maximum of 06 pages (or approximately 15,000 characters);
- other modalities: up to a maximum of 55,000 characters.
d) Abstract (maximum 250 words) and keywords (maximum 03): in Portuguese, English and Spanish;
e) Correction of references, strictly in accordance with the rules;
f) Data about each author (full name, title, professional institution (city / state / country), group / research group to which they are linked, electronic mail, valid ORCID, that is, properly fed);
g) Attentive and strict compliance with ABNT rules (or counterpart for articles in a foreign language).
If the text meets this first assessment, it will be forwarded to the referees for peer review of its content (second stage); otherwise, the author will be notified that the manuscript does not meet the technical editorial quality standards.
The second stage is based on sending the manuscript to two reviewers external to the journal, selected by specialty and affinity in relation to its thematic content, who perform the "blind evaluation" of the article, ensuring anonymity of both the authors and the reviewers.
In the evaluation process, the referees have access to the technical opinion criteria, containing evaluation guidelines that assist them in preparing the opinion.
