Abstract

Claudia Stern introduces us to the studies of the middle classes, focusing on the Chilean case between the 1930s and 1960s. This is an exhaustive investigation, which has the ability to avoid unambiguous definitions in order to recognize the collective complex studied: the middle classes, framed in a versed analysis of Chile's recent history.

Author Biography

Laura Schenquer, IHUCSO (CONICET/UNL)

Se doctoró en historia en la Escuela de Estudios Históricos Zvi Yavetz, Universidad de Tel Aviv. Su M.A. en Investigación Cultural lo realizó en la Escuela de Estudios Culturales Shirley y Leslie Porter, de la misma universidad. Sus estudios de grado los culminó en la Licenciatura en Comunicación Social de la Universidad de Diego Portales de Chile. Asimismo, realizó estancias postdoctorales en diferentes universidades de Europa (el IPAZ de la Universidad de Granada, en LAI de la Universidad Libre de Berlín y en IASH-CSMCH de la Universidad de Edimburgo).
